My interviews of the subject of this book was a very moving experience, one that left me saddened at the thought of the molestation she suffered, and angered that there was nothing that could now be done to right the wrong. I doubt most of us can fathom the depths of depravity that can lead a father to abuse - to rape - his daughter. Repeatedly. Nor will I ever understand how a mother, aware of her husband's debauchery, could ignore that fact. Yet that is exactly what happened in the case of Billie Crawford. "Demons and Whispers; A Memoir of Abuse" is Billie's story. Names and certain circumstances have been modified to protect Billie and the other players in this tragic tale.
